On April 19, 2007, Michael Black, Professor of Computer Science, and his class, CS296-4 Topics in Computer Vision, received commendations from the Henrico County Division of Police, Henrico County Virginia, for their work on analyzing and enhancing surveillance video of a homicide crime scene.
